But, honestly, I could sell everything but the D800, 50mm & LumoPro flash and be happy forever!  I have always loved preserving memories (i.e. Boys I liked and friends in middle school!) and having pictures but it wasn’t until 2007 that I started trying to manipulate images within a camera.  In 2009, I buckled down and started learning on my very first DSLR camera, a Nikon D40 — my birthday present!  I posted more about my journey, with images, over on Clickin Mom’s Blog.

I’m an emotional shooter, learner and teacher.  I’m organized to a fault and crave order.  Before I had kiddos – I was a first grade teacher in Baltimore City.  I became a stay at home mom to the easiest baby in the world and picked up a camera while finishing up my masters degree.  I currently spend my days hopping from school to school doing the pick-up/drop off grind but truly come alive on the weekends when we can stay in our pjs, create art projects around the house, repaint furniture and drink coffee at the table with some hot cinnamon buns (from the can… let’s not get crazy!).  I’m a lazy cook.  I like to blame my family who doesn’t like to eat, but quite frankly I can’t wrap my head around cooking something elaborate and creating art that is going to disappear so soon.  I’m not much of an explorer – but more a ponderer on locations I stumble upon by accident.  I’m not outdoorsy – but I want to be ;).   I want to shoot what’s happening and tell a story… forever and ever.

I teach a workshop at Clickin Moms (I’m also a mentor over there!) called “Photographing Your Family’s Everyday, Extraordinary Day & Everything in Between“.  I joined Clickin Moms in 2012 after feeling like I needed some new resources for learning.  It’s a beautiful community (and not just moms!).
